Information Visitors Provide
Search Terms
When a name, county, state, or other lookup term is entered into a search tool, that request is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Lenawee County Inmate Population does not keep its own database of those search terms.
Messages
If a visitor sends an email or contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to review and respond. It is not shared outside the site operator except when required by law.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, each page visit may create basic technical records. These records can include:
- IP address.
- Browser type and version.
- Device category and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on those pages.
- The referring website, if one is passed to the site.
- Date and time of the visit.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand site usage, support analytics, and help advertising systems function. Browser settings usually allow cookies to be blocked or deleted, although some site features or partner tools may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Is Used
- To keep the site available, readable, and responsive.
- To send search requests to the correct partner service.
- To understand which Lenawee County jail, records, and facility pages are useful.
- To identify broken links, errors, or other technical problems.
- To display advertising that may be based on visitor interests or page context.
Other Websites and Tools
This site links to sheriff pages, court portals, MDOC OTIS, BOP, ICE ODLS, Michigan VINE, public-records portals, and third-party search tools. After a visitor leaves this site, the privacy policy and data practices of the destination website apply.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize visits across different websites and show targeted ads. That tracking happens under the partner's controls, not as a government record process.
Who May Receive Information
Personal information is not sold as a mailing list or standalone data product. It may be handled by the following parties when needed to operate the site:
- Search partners that process lookup requests.
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law-enforcement agencies, courts, or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure.
Security
Reasonable security practices are used to protect information handled through the site. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed fully secure, so this notice does not promise that access, transmission, storage, or partner processing will be breach-proof.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adult users. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor submitted information, a parent or guardian may request deletion.
Your Data Choices
- Request a copy of personal information held by the site operator.
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected.
- Request deletion where the law allows.
- Opt out of certain processing when an opt-out right applies.
Changes to This Notice
This Privacy Notice may be updated as the site, partners, or legal requirements change. Updates will be posted on this page with the revised text.
